MADRID, May 15 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona forward Ferran Torres will miss his side's last three games of the season and also Spain's appearance in the final four of the UEFA Nations League after needing an appendix operation.
"The first team player, Ferran Torres has had a successful surgical operation tonight for a case of appendicitis," the club reported on Thursday morning, adding that the operation had taken by in the "Hospital de Barcelona under the supervision of the club's medical services."
The operation brings a premature end to the striker's season as he will need several weeks to fully recover.
Barcelona will be confirmed as this season's La Liga champion with a win away to local rival Espanyol on Thursday.
