RIO DE JANEIRO, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Kaio Jorge scored twice as Cruzeiro cruised to a 3-0 home win over Bahia in Brazil's Serie A championship on Thursday.
Lucas Romero put the host ahead on the stroke of halftime by thumping a 35-yard drive into the top-right corner after combining with Lucas Silva.
The host doubled the lead just after the hour when Kaio ran onto Christian Cardoso's through ball and threaded a shot between the legs of goalkeeper Ronaldo Strada.
Kaio put the result beyond doubt with a powerful shot from the edge of the 18-yard box after another assist from former Real Madrid midfielder Silva.
The result at the Mineirao leaves Cruzeiro fifth in the 20-team standings with seven points from four games, three points behind leader Flamengo. Bahia is 18th with just three points so far.
